Klase sa NCR sinuspinde dahil sa baha

Pasado 10 a.m. kanina nang ianunsyo ng Department of Education (DepEd) sa radyo’t telebisyon ang pagsuspinde ng mga panghapon na klase sa lahat ng antas.

Alinsunod ito sa rekomendasyon ng National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council dahil patuloy ang pagsusungit ng panahon.

Ilang estudyanteng nasa afternoon class naman ang hindi agad naabisuhan kaya’t lumusong pa rin sila sa ulan.

“Mas maaga po nila ibinalita para hindi po kami nag-aksaya ng oras,” ani Aiwa Jocson, isang estudyante.

Ang ilang paaralan tulad ng Tugatog High School sa Malabon ay pinauwi nang maaga ang mga estyudante. ‘Yon nga lang sa kasagsagan pa ng matinding buhos ng ulan kaya’t ang ilan sa kanila ay lumusong sa baha.

Ayon naman sa DepEd, hindi sila dapat sisihin. Maaga raw nilang naabisuhan ang mga paaralan sa Metro Manila at sumusunod lamang sila sa rekomendasyon ng NDRRMC.

“Mga bandang 9:30 a.m mayroon na kaming recommendation from the NDRRMC to suspend classes in the National Capital Region, to suspend classes in the afternoon,” ani Elena Ruiz, Regional Director ng DepEd NCR.

Dahil din sa malakas na buhos ng ulan sa NCR, ilang kalsada ang binaha.

Sa monitoring ng MMDA, aabot sa 16 na lugar ang nalubog sa baha. Ang pinakamataas ay ang Lower Bicutan na hanggang beywang ang lalim.

Habang binabaybay namin ang kahabaan ng EDSA, dahil sa malakas na buhos ng ulan, naitala ang ilang road accidents.

May 3 vehicular accident naman ang naitala sa video monitoring ng MMDA kung saan ang isang motor ay pumailalim pa sa isang bus sa Quezon City. Alex Santos, Patrol ng Pilipino

The 32nd Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA 2010) which aims to “promote the basic human values – love of God, love for truth, love of life, respect for natural environment and promotion of positive Filipino values” was held on Wednesday at the University of Sto. Tomas medicine auditorium.

ABS-CBN tops 32nd CMMA

MANILA, Philippine (1st UPDATE) – Broadcast giant ABS-CBN again stamped its class for values-oriented programming and media affairs by winning major awards at the 32nd Catholic Mass Media Awards held Wednesday at the UST Medicine Auditorium

.The giant network garnered a total of 19 trophies – 16 major awards and 3 special citations.

The Kapamilya network was hailed with the best program for children and youth (Kulilits), station ID (Si Bro and Star ng Pasko 2009), drama series (Maalaala Mo Kaya), TV special (Ang Aming Mga Sala), special event coverage (TV Patrol Sabado), news magazine (Rated K), and news program (TV Patrol).

Special TV citations were given to Failon Ngayon for news magazine, The Bottomline with Boy Abunda for talk show, and Agua Bendita for drama series.

ABS-CBN’s radio outfit DZMM clinched top honors for best branded radio ad (Child Labor: Piko), counseling program (Dr. Love), drama program (Maalaala Mo Kaya), business radio news or feature (Sikap Pinoy), public service program (Tabalang Failon at Sanchez), news program (Radyo Patrol Balita) and news commentary (Pasada Sais Trenta).

ABS-CBN Publishing, meanwhile, took the Best Special Feature plum in the print category with “Paalam Cory: An ABS-CBN Commemorative Special” by Ernie L. Lopez

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN’s Star Records obtained the top award in the Music Category for May Bukas Pa.
